My digital hearing aids were about 3 years old so I asked Chris Lammert at Hometown Hearing about improvements in hearing aids. I was wondering if any new hearing aids would help me more with my hearing loss, which is quite severe due to a rifle blast at close range when I was a teenager. I have a very severe high pitch hearing loss. I am 80 years old and have worn hearing aids about 40 years.
Chris told me about the (Phonak) "Naida" hearing aids. I tried them and was so impressed I bought them about a year ago. I am very pleased with them. I hear and understand words so much better. I don't have feedback so people don't say "your hearing aids are whistling" which was embarrassing.
I am much more comfortable in crowds with a lot of background noise like loud music and loud talking. The noise is toned down automatically to a comfortable level. I can still hear and talk to friends.
The manual controls are simple and easy to use if you need to turn the volume up or down, but I find the automatic program works great.
I am very happy with these hearing aids and so glad I bought them.
Sincerely,
Bobby R. Nibert
